This article is part of our blog series, Social Media for Landscapers, featuring tips on how you can take advantage of social media for your business.

We talk a lot about Facebook and Twitter in this blog series, but did you know there are other social media platforms out there that can also help grow your landscape business?

Platforms like Pinterest and Houzz with their pin board type layouts are designed to help businesses like landscape contractors highlight beautiful work and get design ideas. Instagram is an image driven platform that allows landscapers to show off their best work with photos or short videos.

Pinterest

Creating a profile on Pinterest can give you ideas for your own landscape designs by searching for terms like landscapes, front yards, backyards, green spaces or any specific project idea you might have.

You can also upload photos and content from projects you’ve completed. Creating boards with categorized images of projects you’ve worked on will provide customers and potential customers an easy place to see everything your business can do.

Houzz

Houzz is similar to Pinterest, in that you can get project design ideas and share images of your work, but Houzz can also be used as a resource for homeowners to find contractors to help them complete a job.

Houzz features a “Find Professionals” tab that easily allows homeowners to find contractors in their areas—almost like the Yellow Pages online.

A Houzz profile can act as an online portfolio for your landscape work to help you showcase your skills and services while also reaching customers who are looking for the services you provide.

Instagram

This photo-sharing platform can help you reach more people who could turn into customers.

You can reach a wider audience by using popular hashtags, such as #irrigation, #landscapedesigns ad more, and tagging partnering businesses, such as Ewing (@officialewingirrigation). Instagram is a social networking site dedicated to photographs and visuals, making it the perfect platform for landscape professionals to show off the beautiful work they do.

All three of these social media platforms can be used to highlight photos or videos of the great work your company does, all while reaching new and existing customers.

Are you using Pinterest, Houzz or Instagram to drive awareness for your business? Let us know by sharing your profiles in the comments or connecting with Ewing on any of these platforms.

Keep an eye out for future tips on social media to promote your business. Have a question? Post it in the comments.
